Dear my readers. How have you been?
It’s been a year since I posted the last blog. I’d been swamped with work, and my personal business. I have become accustomed to my new lifestyle. It’s time to restart posting.
This time, let me briefly introduce Gogatsu doll. It was accidentally appeared when I came back to my granny’s house.
Children’s Day

When I came back to my granny’s house, I noticed a cool Samurai armor. It was displayed with lots of decorations: Japanese sword, arrow, folding fan, drum, liquor, flower, flags and the others which are thought to bring luck to people. This is called Gogatsu Doll. Gogatsu means May in English.

It is a traditional Japanese events to display Gogatsu Doll on May 5 which is a national holiday called Children Day. Usually, it is bought for children to wish for them to grow strong.

This Gogatsu Doll is thought to protect children from troubles.

This Gogatsu Doll was bought by my grandpa about 50 years ago. I can not remember him because he died when I was very young. However, this doll has been used for young generations till the present. It is still in like new condition. My mom keeps it with a great care therefore it is still shiny. I would say that made-in-japan products manufactured long time ago are really high quality and durable.
By the way, boys are celebrated boys on Children’s Day. On the contrary, girls is celebrated on Girl’s Day which is March 3. Hina dolls are displayed on the day.
Wish children powerfully and healthily grow up.
