Now, my grandmother is being moved to the government medical facilities by the staff from the private institution. A month ago, she escaped from the private care institution. She unlocked not only the door at the second floor but also the door at the entrance by herself, and finally flied away to her freedom. The staff noticed her absence for a while. There were turbulent situation in the private care institution. All of the staff went out and patiently searched for her. Fortunately, one of the staff found her walking along the national road. Finally, she was captured and brought back to the institution. As if she broke the jail, lots of police who was called staff desperately searched for her. This over 90 years old elderly woman caused big firestorm in the institution. Lots of people were involved unintentionally. Thus my family and the private care institution discussed over the situation and decided her to move to the government big facilities.

10 years ago, my grandmother was diagnosed as having dementia. The level of her dementia at the time was “1”. Medical organization certifies the level of dementia for patients in Japan. There are 5 levels of dementia: 5 being the highest, 1 being the lowest. Dementia patients are categorized to 5 levels according to the degree of dementia.
One day, my families felt that my grandmother sometimes forgot what she did by herself. So we took her to the general hospital near my house. The doctor doubted her symptom and introduced to the highly-specialized hospital.
Yes, she had early-dementia.
